February Newsletter | 2025

As February unfolds, many businesses are settling into their 2025 rhythms while facing new challenges and opportunities. We're seeing firsthand how businesses are adapting to the latest financial landscape – and we're here to help you stay ahead of the curve. So, grab a coffee and let's explore this month's essential updates.

DS Business Support updates

  • Invoicing changes: As outlined in our recent email, we are making a few changes to the way we’re invoicing. Due to the volume of invoices issued for bookkeeping, payroll and software re-charges, we will be streamlining these into one invoice per month, per client.

  • Those of you whose payroll and/or number of employees fluctuates, will remain on ad-hoc invoicing. However, please follow the steps below for future invoicing:

    • To ensure bookkeeping is calculated correctly, your monthly bookkeeping fee will be based on the average of your last 12 months invoices.

    • We will also be accepting direct debits due to closure of our Natwest bank account. Therefore, when you receive your next invoice, please kindly click on pay now, choose the Direct Debit / Go Cardless option and follow the onscreen instructions.

    • Should anything change within your business that requires more hours on your books than what has been invoiced, we will contact you prior to issuing the invoice. Please do keep us updated about any changes within your business that could impact your monthly fee, at which point we can requote.

  • Fees increase: As per inflation, fees will be increasing by 5% as of 1st April 2025 - if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

HMRC update

Handy hints & tips

  • Repeating invoices in Xero: Tired of manually entering invoices every month for the same set of clients? Set up repeating invoices in Xero and save time on a recurring basis. Simply set up a template, and Xero will automatically create the transaction according to the frequency and status you choose.

  • Payroll compliance: Ensure your payroll is compliant with the latest HMRC regulations. Take a look at our handy payroll checklist here:
